7th Street Studios is an educational and artist studio space located in the heart of Perkasie's business district that provides private, semi-private and open studio space, as well as fine art instruction in the visual arts for children and adults.
The primary goal of 7th Street Studios is to educate and encourage artists of all levels through ongoing classes in drawing and painting in a supportive and welcoming atmosphere. 7th Street Studios is proud to serve the entire Upper Bucks community, including Doylestown, Dublin, Quakertown, Telford, Souderton, and the surrounding communities of Green Lane, Bethlehem and Allentown.
Instructors
CASSAUNDRA FLOR is a local artist inspired by personal relationships and domestic spaces. Her work explores techniques in drawing, painting, and printmaking. She believes that passionate, clear instruction gives students the confidence and skill to execute their ideas.
Cassaundra has experience with teaching teen and adult artists at Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts and Artists of Yardley. Her studio work has been exhibited at the State Museum of Pennsylvania, the Trenton Museum at Ellarslie, Goggleworks Center for the Arts, and Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts.
LAURA MINER is scientist/artist who is inspired by the natural world. She has worked as an environmental consultant for over three decades and has always enjoyed plain air painting in her free time. She has exhibited her work in local galleries and shows.
Her art instruction is from various courses and workshops near and far (Taos Art School, Scottsdale Art School, Koi Studio and 7th Street Studio). She has also taught STEM courses at the DaVinci Science center and learned Lenape culture as a volunteer docent at the Allentown Museum of Indian Culture.
She has created these art classes to merge art and science and teach the history of how colors were derived from natural earth materials. Laura earned a BA in Chemistry and Environmental Science from Franklin & Marshall College and a graduate certification in Sustainability Management and Policy from Penn State University. She resides in Perkasie, PA.
ADRIENE VESCI is a teaching artist and freelance graphic designer who is inspired by nature, letter forms, architecture and the wonderful, carefree art of children. Most recently, she has been designing and painting murals at Guth Elementary in Perkasie.
In 1999, Adriene began teaching at Abington Art Center in Jenkintown, and in 2003, went on to start a youth art program at Allegheny Art Company, Newtown, where she taught until 2010. She first offered kids’ art classes at 7th Street Studios in January 2019 and has been teaching classes here after school, Saturday mornings and summer camps ever since.
Adriene earned a BFA in Graphic Design & Illustration from Tyler School of Art 2004, studied art abroad in Rome, Italy 2001, and earned a BA in Film Studies from Temple University in 1994. Adriene is current on her PA State clearances to work with youth students and she currently resides in Perkasie with her two daughters and their fabulous felines, Jake and Nox.
GABLE YOUNG studied at Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts and University of the Arts in a dual enrollment program. They received a BFA, Certificate of Painting, and a PA Teacher's Certification. Young has continued to teach both privately and in schools. They worked for eight years making backdrops for high school plays and musicals which stretched their creative imagination and speed of work.
Currently, Gable travels doing juried art/craft shows and continues to work in both clay and oils. The most recent focus in on clay vessels which are altered and added to with hand-built additions and political themes. Both their paintings and clay pieces are highly influenced by nature in color and form.
Gable also teaches drawing at a local university and pottery at Arts Quest in Bethlehem and says "Teaching helps me to stretch my own creativity. I learn from my students as much as they learn from me.”
